HEALTH COACH / FITNESS TRAINER

From as young as I can remember, I've had a passion for sports. I played any sport I could while growing up and started participating in half marathons and triathlons in my 20s. I shared this passion by teaching others to reach their goals. It was at that time that I became a high school science teacher and still often help out in various schools all over the world.

After having children, I realized how few fitness professionals understand the way women's bodies change and function throughout childbirth and menopause.  I also noticed how professionals seldom address general imbalances and muscular problems that occur due to age or repetitive movement because I, too, found myself frustrated by injuries that wouldn't fully heal.  It was then that my love of science and passion for making a difference inspired me to become a personal trainer and spend the next five years studying sports science. Those knowledge gaps were something I felt compelled to change.

My Master's degree included sports nutrition, personal training, glute specialization, strength and conditioning coaching, yoga instruction, and exercise recovery, which made Gumption the perfect place to support people while embodying the professional I always wished was there to guide me.
